RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
3.0 Introduction
This chapter focused on research methodology which includes research design, population of the study, sample size, sampling procedure, method of data collection, validity and reliability of data instrument and method of data analysis.
3.1 Research design
The research design used for this study is the survey research method. According to Osuala (2001), the survey research studies both large and small populations by selecting and studying samples chosen from the populations to discover the relative incidence, distribution and interrelations of sociological and psychological variables. Survey research focuses on people their beliefs, way of life, behaviour etc. which is the focus of the study.
3.2 Research population
According to Ihejirika and Omego (2013) population refers to the number of people which are similar in one way or the other and which a study wants to investigate. The population of this research is all senior students of Olobo Premier College which is over 300.
3.3 Sampling size/sampling procedure
According to Osuala (2001) sampling is taking any portion of a population or universe as representative of that population or universe as representative of that population or universe. The sample size includes only the senior secondary one (SS1) to senior secondary three (SS3) of the research population instead of the entire population which includes the junior secondary students.
The size was gotten by taking a census of all senior secondary school students of Olobo Premier College. The purposive sampling technique was used to select the sample size from the research population. The sample size is 154 students.
3.4 Research instrument
The instrument of data collection was the questionnaire which according to Ihejirika and Omego (2011), is an instrument containing items that allow a researcher acquire data from the respondents. The questionnaire was used to find out the influence of foreign films on behaviour of students of Olobo Premier
College Choba. It was divided into two sections. Section A contained personal data of the respondents while section B contained proposition which the respondents was expected to answer.
3.5 Validity of Research Instrument
The questionnaire which is the tool for the research work was validated by my supervisor. The vetting aided the success of the study.
3.6 Method of data collection
Data for the study were gathered through the questionnaire. The questionnaire were administered personally by the researcher to the respondents.
3.7 Method of data analysis
The data collection through questionnaire were analysed through statistical packages for social sciences (spss) using frequency table distribution and percentile. Its aim is to reduce data to allow for interpretation.
CHAPTER FOUR
DATA PRESENTATION AND ANALYSIS
4.0 Introduction
This chapter presents the data collected from the field. 160 questionnaires were administered and all were retrieved fm the respondents. Thereafter, statistical packages for social science (Spss v.20) were used to analyze the data to obtain their frequencies and percentiles
