SUMMARY, FINDING, RECOMMENDATION AND CONCLUSION
5.0 Introduction
This chapter presents summary of the
finding, conclusion, recommendation and suggested area for further study is
also provided in this chapter.
5.1Summary of Findings
This research work examined rural
communication in radio Bayelsa State and access to information for development.
The study found out that radio can be used to reach the people of rural area
for information and education since grater percentage acquires and listen to
radio from the analysis of data in chapter four, the following finding were
center established.
1. It
was discovered that radio with its special characteristic is the common communication medium used for rural
development.
2. In
Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State Gben-epie is the only radio programme
they listen and the programme has helped to educate the people.
5.2 Conclusion
In conclusion it has been argued that
the radio as an electronic medium is the most accessible medium of
communication to reach the rural people. The radio programme targeted at the
rural audience can go a long way in persuading people to abandon some old
unprofitable practices and embrace new and profitable practices. The radio as a
motivator can also motivate people on doing the things they know how to do best.
5.3 Recommendations
The finding of this study calls for
certain recommendation for further study.
1. Rural based or community radio should
be established.
2. More radio programmes targeted to the
rural people should be produced.
