In as much as Pidgin English cannot be totally stopped, it can be gradually reduced, so I think government and NGOs should make available more learning standard English forums in the grassroots level.

It is not proper because it is easy to learn and it has affected the educational system badly. As primary, secondary and even university students and graduates can’t even speak the Standard English without adding Nigerian Pidgin.
It not only proper but unacceptable because it has hindered the awareness of mother tongue as parents get carried away with these Nigerian Pidgin radio stations forget speak their language at home.
It is proper for entertainment but not for the educational standard of the country (Nigeria).
B, Do you think Nigerian Pidgin has a role/roles to play in radio broadcasting? What are these roles?
Pidgin in radio broadcasting plays any role that a language can play i.e. expression and communication.
Pidgin in radio broadcasting helps to facilitate clearer communication in business, trading, in the market place, to old people in rural areas and in preaching the gospel.
In the area of education, teachers sometimes find themselves in situations where they need to get their students to understand. Therefore, they look for a language of simple terms. This language is Nigerian Pidgin.
Pidgin in radio broadcasting brings to light different perspectives to a particular story, hidden meanings and deeper understanding.

D, Are there any adverse effects of Nigerian Pidgin on other aspects and institution of the society?
In the area of culture, the frequent use of Nigerian Pidgin has adversely affected the ability of the youths to speak their indigenous languages properly.
Since most people are pre-occupied with the use of Nigerian Pidgin, the vernacular language is been forgotten and becoming extinct.
In the area of education, the adverse effects of the use of Nigerian Pidgin are also visible. Individual who have been brought up at home with the use of Nigerian Pidgin encounter difficulties in learning when taught in English. They do not fully or easily understand what is being taught.
As concerns the Economics sector, these adverse effects are also quite visible. Mathematics is also strongly tied to economics, and mathematics in schools is taught in pure English which the students cannot easily understand, as a result of the frequent use of the Nigerian Pidgin.
This is one of the reasons responsible for the high rate of failure of mathematics and mathematics-related subjects and courses in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. Terms like ‘mean’, ‘median’ and ‘mode’ in Economics are not easily understood by these youths who use Nigerian Pidgin heavily. In the Nigerian Stock Market, stocks are not discussed, advertised or sold in Pidgin, and so the layman does not understand issues like these, and this contributes to poverty.
In the area of religion, it is observed that pastors who preach in the standard English are seen as having more originality and are believed more. They have some superiority. It is important to note here that the Bible is written in pure, impeccable English. However, we observe that the level of the audience determines the choice of language used, and so we find preachers of the gospel having to speak Nigerian Pidgin when in contact with those who would most likely not fully understand polished English. Also, during House fellowship meetings and Bible study or Sunday school sessions of some churches where the groups are small, Nigerian Pidgin is usually employed to enhance understanding and help the hearers receive the word of God.
The use of Nigerian Pidgin creates interwoven adverse effect. Culture, religion, the media, the economy, etc are being purveyed through English language, and if the use of Nigerian Pidgin adversely / negatively affects English language, then logically, it also affect these other areas- religion, culture, etc.
E. Other comments made about Nigerian Pidgin
There are several other notable comments made about Nigerian Pidgin which were not necessary within the scope of questions asked. This researcher has found them worthy to be stated here:
People relationship very according to their languages. The king of relationship one maintains with another with whom he speaks pidgin is not the same king of relationship he has with someone who he communicates with in English. The kind of language used affect the levels at which relationships are built.
People would rate one who speaks pure English higher than they would rate Pidgin speaker, because pidgin is seen as a local language.
There are ratings or types of pidgin. We have clean Pidgin and dirty Pidgin.
Pidgin blends better with native language than with English.
In communication, the medium is the message, and so when one uses Nigerian pidgin, it shows who and what he is, and so determines how he will be received. By using Nigerian Pidgin as your medium, one is already giving people a message about himself, which is most times on the negative side.
